Hubballi: JD(S) state president H D Kumaraswamy alleged that the Congress has failed to protect the interest of Muslims who are being allegedly attacked by Hindutva forces.Addressing the gathering at a party executive committee meeting committee meeting, held in the city for the first time, on Thursday, Kumaraswamy said, "The allegation that the JD(S) will form government with the help of BJP is a lie. Muslims should not believe Congress' allegation and should vote for the JD(S). There is no doubt that the party will win 113 seats to form the government on its own," he said.Kumaraswamy also criticized party leaders for "running behind me when I visit north Karnataka, but remaining inactive rest of the days". He told his party men: "You should work to strengthen the party, instead of sitting at home."The executive committee meeting resolved to urge the Prime Minister to intervene to resolve the Mahadayi issue and urged the Centre and state governments to complete pending railway projects."The meeting also resolved to urge the Centre and the state to come to the rescue of farmers who have suffered loss due to floods and drought," said the party's national vice-president P G R Sindhia.He claimed that talks have been held MLC C M Ibrahim, a close aide of CM Siddaramaiah , with regard to the Congress leaders joining the JD(S). "Senior leadership of the party will take a call on the matter," said Sindhia.Meanwhile, former Prime Minister H D Deve Gowda told reporters that he has not done injustice to north Karnataka when there was discussion on sanctioning of the South Western Railway zonal headquarters. "I had sanctioned Rs 50 crore for the railway workshop when I was the Prime Minister," he said.
