Twitter Hyderabad: Intensify the collection of Property Tax campaign in Hyderabad Municipal limits and ensure that the arrears are paid. These instructions were issued by Dr. B. Janardhan Reddy, Commissioner of GHMC. He instructed the officials to complete the target of tax collection before the budget session. He further said that if the target is not met, it may not be possible for GHMC to enhance its budget. It may be mentioned GHMC had prepared the plan to collect Rs. 1400 crore as property tax during this financial year but so far, only Rs. 931 crore have been collected. He told the staff to work on holidays also in order to complete the target within the next 45 days. GHMC officials told that this target was fixed on the basis of collections made last year. It may be mentioned that last year, GHMC had announced that it would accept demonetized currency due to which it was possible to collect huge amounts but this year it may not be possible to reach the target. GHMC proposes to organize awareness program to collect property tax. –Siasat News
