more-in The State government has decided to issue pattadar passbooks to farmers in possession of assigned lands along with those cultivating their own lands. The government has decided to identify the lands under the possession of beneficiaries and clarity should be given in the ownership rights. The pattadar passbooks should be made in the names of the owners and every entry in them should be scrutinised thoroughly. There should be no mistakes or errors in the entries, Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao has said. The Chief Minister wanted the officials not to make entries in undue haste and also wanted details of non-agricultural lands owned by farmers in their respective villages be entered in the passbooks by providing an additional column. The Aadhaar numbers of the farmers should be linked to the passbooks and “this is a must”. Assigned lands The Chief Minister congratulated the officials of the Revenue Department for their efforts in taking up land records updation programme and said officials should collect data not only about the farmers cultivating their own lands but also those cultivating assigned lands. Mr. Rao warned officials against making any mistakes in the passbooks in their anxiety to complete the process. Officials should doubly check the entries in the passbooks and ensure that there were no mistakes/errors. “It is a fact that March 11 is fixed as day for distribution of passbooks. However, it will take some time and a bit of delay in getting the information of assignee farmers, non-agricultural lands owned by them and other issues,” he said. The development comes in the light of reports that the security printing press had not taken up printing of pattadar passbooks almost two weeks after entering into memorandum of understanding with the government to print close to 72 lakh passbooks incorporating 18 security features due to some technical issues. The Chief Minister said the government had no objection even if there was some delay in printing the passbooks for assignees. Printing delay The Chief Minister asserted that distribution would be taken up only after ensuring the entries in the passbooks were without any mistakes. He expressed concern that a section of farmers were not forthcoming to give Aadhaar details. “Some people in Ranga Reddy, Medchal and other districts have not linked their Aadhaar cards with the records. Such people should furnish the details at the earliest. Lands of those who have not linked their Aadhaar details will have to be identified as benami,” the Chief Minister warned. The Chief Minister wanted the officials to ensure that drinking water was supplied to all villages by March 31. Works for laying internal pipelines should be taken up simultaneously along with laying of pipelines to villages. The elected representatives of the concerned areas, the MLAs in particular, should take the initiative in ensuring that internal pipeline works were completed and taps were fitted in every house.
