Traffic near Biodiversity Park to breathe easy soon

  • | Wednesday | 14th March, 2018

Once it is finished the traffic flow will be eased to quite an extent. The construction of a ramp for flyover beside the Biodiversity Park has not eased matters as the road has narrowed down considerably in both the directions, affecting traffic flow. The road may ease the burden for hassled traffic police officials but a landmark rock formation will disappear in the process. In the process, it may also help speed up the flow of traffic from Gachibowli towards Tolichowki area. The traffic bottleneck near Biodiversity Park for vehicles coming from HiTec City towards Khajaguda and Raidurgam may disappear quickly, as a new road is being laid to link the two arterial roads.

more-in The traffic bottleneck near Biodiversity Park for vehicles coming from HiTec City towards Khajaguda and Raidurgam may disappear quickly, as a new road is being laid to link the two arterial roads. In the process, it may also help speed up the flow of traffic from Gachibowli towards Tolichowki area. “The road will be ready within one month. Once it is finished the traffic flow will be eased to quite an extent. It is a white topped cement road and traffic can move at good speed,” informs an engineer of the Telangana State Industrial Infrastructure Corporation Limited-Industrial Area Local Authority, which is executing the project. Being built at a cost of ?60 crore, the road will ensure seamless flow of traffic between the two arterial roads which are a nightmare for drivers now. A saving grace is the fact that the new road has ducts for cables and storm drain, which will prevent frequent road excavation work. “This road has become a bottleneck over the past two years. Earlier, traffic would flow smoothly. But now, because of more number of vehicles going towards Nanakramguda and Gachibowli, this road becomes blocked for hours during the morning and evening rush hours,” says Abdul Qadir, who drives a cab for living. The construction of a ramp for flyover beside the Biodiversity Park has not eased matters as the road has narrowed down considerably in both the directions, affecting traffic flow. “That rock which looks like a wall will disappear and this road will get linked up to the Old Bombay Highway,” says a traffic police official pointing to the rock formation ahead. While the white topped road has been laid till the Madhapur Traffic Police Station, work crews are using massive earth moving equipment to cut and blast through the rocks. The road may ease the burden for hassled traffic police officials but a landmark rock formation will disappear in the process. The rocky structure is part of the Durgam Cheruvu formation which was under the protection of Regulation no. 13 of Hyderabad Urban Development Authority till a few years back.
