more-in Film producer Nagendra Babu on Wednesday said women actors should seek legal recourse if they have been wronged. He spoke after actor Sri Reddy took a dig against his brother and Jana Sena Party chief Pawan Kalyan. Mr. Babu said casting couch has been a problem the industry faced for many years and actors who are being exploited should take the legal route. Just a day before, actor Sri Reddy, who stripped to mark her protest against alleged incidence of casting couch, took a dig at Pawan Kalyan for suggesting that she should take legal recourse instead of protesting. Speaking at Film Chambers in Jubilee Hills, he said the battle that Sri Reddy has been fighting has swayed from its path. “People who are not connected to the situation are being dragged into the issue. The Movie Artists Association is working for its members,” he said adding that the association will do justice to the aggrieved artistes. “There are no gods in the film world, but humans. If a woman actor is wronged, she should complain,” Mr. Babu added. “Please do not drag our family into the issue. It looks like efforts are being made to defame Pawan Kalyan by discussing his personal matters.” Actor Madhavi Latha, who also has spoken about casting couch in the Telugu film industry, sat in silent protest at the Film Chambers but was asked to leave by the police. The actor’s protest was against Sri Reddy for making remarks against Mr. Kalyan.
