Inflows continue into some reservoirs

In Telangana, Jurala, Sriramsagar, Singur and Yellampally projects continue to get inflows although in a reduced measure compared to the last few days. Kaddam project has also received over 1.29 tmc ft water and Sriramsagar has received over 0.92 tmc ft so far. While Singur and Sriramsagar projects were getting over 800 cusecs of inflows on Saturday, Yellampally was getting 680 cusecs. In the upper reaches of Krishna Basin, Tungabdhara project has already received over 13 tmc ft water and Narayanpur over 5 tmc ft. In Telangana, Nagarjunasagar has received about 1.3 tmc ft with the help of rains in the local catchment areas.

more-in In spite of a break in the movement of monsoon over most the catchment areas in the Krishna and Godavari Basins, a few major reservoirs continue to get inflows with Tugabhadra project in Karnataka getting considerable flood of over 52,000 cusecs. In Telangana, Jurala, Sriramsagar, Singur and Yellampally projects continue to get inflows although in a reduced measure compared to the last few days. According to officials, Jurala was getting over 1,900 cusecs of flood and the cumulative inflows into the reservoir this water year starting from June 1 has been about 2 tmc ft so far. While Singur and Sriramsagar projects were getting over 800 cusecs of inflows on Saturday, Yellampally was getting 680 cusecs. There is a good beginning to this water year in case of Sriramsagar as it has already received about 4 tmc ft water. Kaddam project has also received over 1.29 tmc ft water and Sriramsagar has received over 0.92 tmc ft so far. Singur has also got nearly 0.7 tmc ft water. In the upper reaches of Krishna Basin, Tungabdhara project has already received over 13 tmc ft water and Narayanpur over 5 tmc ft. In Telangana, Nagarjunasagar has received about 1.3 tmc ft with the help of rains in the local catchment areas.
