Learning the essence of yoga

The Yoga Day was jointly organised by Nehru Yuva Kendra Sanghatan, AYUSH, Indian Red Cross Society, NSS, Jaycees, Namaste India Foundation, District Youth Welfare Office, Dayananda Yoga Kendra, Pathanjali, Arya Samaj, Art of Living, Sankshema Yoga Vignana Kendram, Ayushman Yoga Therapy Centre and Arogya Raksha. International Yoga Day was celebrated on a grand scale across the erstwhile Nizamabad district on Thursday. Karnan participated in yoga sessions. According to SCCL sources, over 39,000 people participated in yoga sessions held at the coal mines, residential colonies, and stadiums in the Kothagudem region. Hundreds of yoga enthusiasts, including SCCL employees and students, performed yogasanas at the sprawling stadium grounds late on Thursday afternoon.

Yoga gurus Siddi Ramulu, Baisa Haridas Arya, Rukman Rao, Prakash Goud, Ganga Das of Ayush and Raja Rani Agrawal, DRO Vinod Kumar, District Medical and Health Officer J. Venkat, TSSP battalion commandant N.V. Sambaiah, IRCS Chairman N. Ramchander, NYK youth coordinator M. Ramachandra Rao, BJP district president P. Ganga Reddy, former MLA Y. Lakshmi Narayana, BJP State committee member D. Suryanarayana were felicitated. Adilabad Special Correspondent adds: The fourth International Yoga Day was celebrated across the erstwhile Adilabad district on Thursday with top-level officials participating in the event early in the morning. At Nirmal district headquarter town, Housing Minister A. Indrakaran Reddy participated in a yoga session. District Collectors of Adilabad and Mancherial D. Divya and R.V. Karnan participated in yoga sessions. They exhorted citizens to practice yoga every day to stay healthy. BHADRADRI-KOTHAGUDEM Special Correspondent adds: The coal town of Kothagudem came alive with scores of yoga enthusiasts taking out a huge rally under the aegis of Singareni Collieries Company Limited (SCCL) propagating yoga as a means to attain physical fitness and mental well-being on the occasion of International Yoga Day on Thursday. A large number of people from various walks of life took part in the rally with Singarenians leading it from the front. The rally that began at SCCL headquarters wound its way through the bus station and other main areas in the town before culminating in a massive yoga session at Prakasham Stadium in the district headquarters town. Hundreds of yoga enthusiasts, including SCCL employees and students, performed yogasanas at the sprawling stadium grounds late on Thursday afternoon. According to SCCL sources, over 39,000 people participated in yoga sessions held at the coal mines, residential colonies, and stadiums in the Kothagudem region. The sources said that the SCCL achieved a record of sorts by organising mass yoga sessions involving a little over 1.26 lakh people in all the 11 areas of the coal belt region spread in six districts on Thursday.
