Amrapali instructed the officials of Greater Warangal Municipal Corporation (GWMC) and Kakatiya Urban Development Authority (KUDA) to mark tanks and lakes clearly and take steps to protect them. She was addressing the newsmen after releasing the ward-wise map of the Warangal city as part of master plan here on Saturday. KUDA Chairman M. Yadava Reddy and Vice Chairman V. P. Gautham and others were present. Bhadrakali lake She told the officials that details of the land abutting the Bhadrakali Lake must be updated and the boundaries of the lake be duly marked. She also asked the officials to prepare proposals for building a bund for one kilometer along the Chinna Waddepalli Lake. GWMC Commissioner and KUDA Vice Chairman V. P. Goutham said apart from making an mobile phone application for the citizens to check the master plan and also provide their suggestions or complaints, the masterplan is being provided to each and every household. “The maps issued by KUDA contain details of roads, lakes, landmarks which help the citizens identify their land and check its land use designation. Any objections or suggestions must be made within 90 days of notifying the master plan. Only 60 more days were left for the master plan final approval. Once, it is done, no changes would be made to it,” he said. Mr. Yadava Reddy said though the master plan was delayed, as it was done in foolproof manner, it was the responsibility of the citizens to reach out to them for complaints. Awareness programmes “More awareness programs will be held to ensure the master plan draft is made available to each and every citizen of Warangal,” he said. KUDA planning officer E. Ajit Reddy, colony development committee members, and NGOs and others were present.
