Energisation sanctioned for Yousufguda sub-station

Raju, for the Hyderabad Metro Rail, has conducted the statutory inspection of Yousufguda Metro Receiving Sub Station (RSS) and accorded sanction for energisation. L& T Metro Rail (Hyderabad) has announced that the Chief Electrical Inspector for Government of India, D.V.S. Getting the sub-station working will help the metro rail authorities to feed power supply mainly to Corridor III - Nagole to Hi-Tec City. Reddy said, “This is an important milestone in power supply arrangement for Metro Rail Systems. “Energisation of the Yousufguda sub-station will not only provide overhead electric traction system for the Corridor III but will also help provide power to the malls built by the L&TMRH as part of the Transit Oriented Development (TOD),” said Mr. Raju after concluding the inspection.

Getting the sub-station working will help the metro rail authorities to feed power supply mainly to Corridor III - Nagole to Hi-Tec City. It is the last of the four sub-stations which will be supplying power exclusively to the metro rail project with the other sub-stations located at Uppal, Miyapur and MGBS, which are already in service. The Yousufguda receiving sub-station is fed from the Erragadda 220/132 kV Grid Sub-station of TSTransco through 132 kV underground cables and is controlled through Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition System (SCADA) from Operation Control Centre (OCC) located in HMR Uppal Depot. “Energisation of the Yousufguda sub-station will not only provide overhead electric traction system for the Corridor III but will also help provide power to the malls built by the L&TMRH as part of the Transit Oriented Development (TOD),” said Mr. Raju after concluding the inspection. L&TMRH chief executive and managing director K.V.B. Reddy said, “This is an important milestone in power supply arrangement for Metro Rail Systems. This will help us to commission substations at metro stations, signalling and telecommunication system, automatic fare collection system in Ameerpet-Hitech city stretch as per schedule”.
