Hyderabad: Mr. Shahnawaz Qasim, IPS, Director, Dept. of Minorities Welfare, Govt. of Telangana presented a report of Telangana Govt. in the meeting held in New Delhi. This meeting was organized by the Dept. of Minority Affairs, Govt. of India. It was presided over by Mr. Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi, Minister of Minority Affairs. Mr. Qasim told that TS Govt. has decided to seek financial assistance from Central Govt. under Pradhan Mantri Jana Vikas Kariya Karam. He also mentioned that financial assistance is sought from the Central Govt. for developing infrastructure in 41 minority residential schools, 8 junior colleges and 4 hostels. These institutions are located in 11 districts where the concentration of minority population is sizeable. Mr. Qasim further informed that Central Govt. has assured that this proposal will receive sympathetic consideration. It may be mentioned that Mr. Qasim attended the meeting in which secretaries and directors of departments of Minorities Welfare of various states participated. In the second and third phases of Skill Development, Central Assistance would be sought for improving facilities in the Healthcare Sector. Mr. Qasim also told that so long as various training courses are not linked to jobs, it is not possible to make the future of the youths bright. He informed that the Dept. of Minorities Welfare is preparing a report for Skill Development. He said that the functioning of minority school in TS was applauded by the participants of the meeting. –Siasat News
