Hyderabad: Despite making lofty claims for allocating huge amounts for the welfare of minorities, the action taken by TRS Govt. is very disappointing. Authentic sources revealed that CM of TS, Mr. KCR has issued instructions to Finance Dept. to stop payments to all the welfare schemes so that amounts could be made available for meeting the expenses of Rythu Bandu Scheme and farmers’ Insurance Scheme to be launched on 15th August. This step of State Govt. reveals that it wants to muster the support of farmers for the next election. It may be mentioned that TS Govt. allocated Rs. 2000 crore for the welfare of minorities but amounts were not released to any minority institution for the first quarter of the financial year. According to the report, Minorities Finance Corporation, Wakf Board, Urdu Academy, Center for Educational Development of Minorities, OU, Haj Committee, Dairatul Maarif, Survey Commissioner of Wakf, Christian Finance Corporation and other minority institution did not receive even a single rupee during this financial year. Except minorities residential schools, overseas scholarships and fee reimbursement, no other schemes have been paid money. The officials of the Dept. of Minorities Welfare are continuously in contact with the officials of the Dept. of Finance who in turn express their inability to release funds. Govt. and its ministers should pay attention to release the funds for minority welfare schemes. –Siasat News
