Boot camp for women engineers returning to work

Engineering and industrial software solutions firm Aveva is launching a boot camp for women engineers who are currently on a career break and considering resuming work. A release on Tuesday from the company said enrolment selection for the boot camp is based on pre-defined criteria established to maximise the effectiveness and success of the diversity and inclusion (D&I) initiative. A maximum of 20 participants are to be selected for the first batch. The Asha Boot Camp, as it is named, would span four weeks and include a range of training sessions to help the participants sharpen their programming skills through hands-on sessions on object-oriented programming practices. Falguni Shah, HR Business Partner for AVEVA said: “Our India workforce currently comprises 30% women... the goal is to increase that figure by encouraging and supporting women in technical roles.”
