HYDERABAD: The Congress is planning to announce its ‘election manifesto’ early so that the cadre can take it up to the last voter in the state much before Telangana goes to polls.AICC president Rahul Gandhi and TPCC president N Uttam Kumar Reddy have already announced the party’s manifesto for a major section of people in Telangana, which comprise over 60% of the total voters in the state.During the party’s bus yatra and public meetings held in the last one year till date, the Uttam-led Congress has announced the party’s poll manifesto for women, unemployed youth, farmers and beneficiaries of social security pensions.“Congress wants to be an early bird. The manifesto committee would be re-constituted shortly and a formal manifesto would be announced way ahead of the polling date,” a senior party leader said.Senior leaders in the Congress are of the opinion that a delayed manifesto in 2014 elections had an adverse impact on the prospects of the party. As such, this time, it would be an early manifesto with party leaders, workers and cadre, getting enough time to reach every voter with the manifesto.The TPCC leadership is also under tremendous pressure to speed up formation of campaign and strategy committees. Over half a dozen leaders would go to voters with its manifesto and failures of the KCR-government. Uttam said Congress would soon launch a ‘door-to-door’ campaign. Firebrand leaders such as DK Aruna, Komatireddy Venkat Reddy and Revanth Reddy , will also launch padayatras.
