IIIT-H inks pact with Nasscom CoE

Over 1,000 tech professionals from Hyderabad and Bengaluru have enrolled for the programme in the first eight months of its launch. IIIT-H, in association with TalentSprint, offers an advanced certification programme to build Artificial Intelligence/ML expertise among 10,000 IT professionals. The agreement comes in the backdrop of traditional IT roles vanishing and companies betting big on AI and deep tech areas to further grow. “We are glad to enter into an agreement with this Executive Programme in AI/ML by the Machine Learning Lab of IIIT-H to fuel the expertise building in the ecosystem” said Sanjeev Malhotra, CEO of Nasscom CoE-DSAI. The agreement comes in the backdrop of traditional IT roles vanishing and companies betting big on AI and deep tech areas to further grow. By 2021, around 75% of enterprise applications would use AI, according to a report by IDC. Currently, only 1% of the IT workforce has AI expertise, a release on the signing of the agreement said.IIIT-H professor Ramesh Loganathan said The programme can support IT Industry to become globally competitive. “AI/ML technologies are pegged to rewrite the narrative of the global software industry and the race for talent has started,” said Santanu Paul, MD and CEO of TalentSprint.
