Venkaiah unveils book penned by Devender Goud

Earlier, Mr. Devender Goud spoke briefly about his book and his journey in public life. Vice-President M. Venkaiah Naidu has described the language as a medium to express one’s feelings comprehensively, culture as a way of life and religion as a belief of an individual. He felt that making books available in the mother tongue would take the sense of the writing perfectly to people. Stating that he was well-acquainted with the personality of Mr. Devender Goud for decades and the way of his response to people’s issues, the Vice-President said it was not an autobiography but a compilation of memories of his (writer’s) public journey. Speaking after unveiling the coffee table book, “My Journey”, penned by former Minister and MP T. Devender Goud here on Sunday, the Vice-President said Indian culture had high values and it was the responsibility of one and all to follow the systems established for the existence of mankind such as family and society.

Stating that he was well-acquainted with the personality of Mr. Devender Goud for decades and the way of his response to people’s issues, the Vice-President said it was not an autobiography but a compilation of memories of his (writer’s) public journey. “I personally feel that every politician should bring out such a book not for any personal glory but to make people know some important incidents and phases of their life and also for accountability”, Mr. Venkaiah Naidu said, adding that he too had brought a book on his one-year journey as Vice-President of the country. The Vice-President, who chairs the Rajya Sabha sittings, said he had allowed MPs to speak in 22 languages in the House since he held one’s mother tongue in the highest regard. Earlier, Mr. Devender Goud spoke briefly about his book and his journey in public life. Deputy Chief Minister Md. Mahamood Ali and others participated.
