TRS holding oath-taking at religious places

HYDERABAD: With Telangana to go to polls soon, TRS local leaders are making the electorate take oath only to vote for TRS candidates. Lately, the voters are being made to take oath at religious places. If the TRS candidate is present at that time, he is made to stand in the middle for the make-a-pledge ceremony.The ruling TRS candidates and ministers have plunged themselves into the election campaign but the more focus is being given on the administering of pledges.Initially, the trend began with villagers passing unanimous resolutions to vote for the TRS candidates. Mahendar Reddy stood with the group as they took oath.At many constituencies, local TRS cadre are also making voters take an oath standing in front of village temples in the same manner with outstretched arms. This ‘make a pledge’ with outstretched arms is taking place in front of temples and mosques.In Tandur Assembly constituency from where transport minister P Mahendar Reddy is contesting, a group of Muslim voters were administered the pledge by a Muslim youth that they would vote only for the TRS.
