more-in Peeved over denial of money by his mother to purchase clothes for the oncoming Dasara festival, a class 10 student hanged himself to death at their house in Antharam village of Kulkacharla Mandal in Rangareddy district here on Sunday. Police said, the boy (16), was home for Dasara vacations from Government Boys’ High School in Shabad and resorted to the extreme step when he was alone. His father, mother and younger sister had gone out for work. The incident came to light around 11 a.m. when his father, Venkataiah, retuned home for lunch and found the door locked from inside. He peeped through the window only to see his son hanging from the ceiling and called neighbours to break the door, said Shabad Station House Officer M Ravi Kumar. “A few days ago, he asked his mother money for the school’s excursion to Hyderabad. However, she couldn’t fulfil his wish due to poverty. Again, on Saturday the boy demanded ? 1,000 for purchasing new clothes, but she sought time,” he said.
