HYDERABAD: TRS president and chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao on Tuesday said corrupt Congress leaders will face the heat if the TRS retains power in the upcoming assembly elections.“Let me emphatically say I will go after them. The files pertaining to corruption during the Congress rule prior to the 2014 elections are ready,” Chandrasekhar Rao said.KCR also said he chose not to proceed against those who were in the previous Congress government for their corruption as it would have seemed that he was being vindictive.Rao described TDP national president and Andhra Pradesh chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu as a ‘shani’ who could only bring ill-luck to the people of Andhra who had comfortably been living in Telangana for several years or decades. “What business does Chandrababu Naidu have to contest polls in Telangana? What is his need here?” he questioned.The TRS president reiterated that those who had come from Andhra and living in Telangana were comfortable and faced no problems whatsoever in the last four and a half years.“Why do they even have to think of themselves as people from Andhra. They are in Telangana. Be a proud Hyderabadi. Claim yourselves to be Telanganites. Don’t brand yourself as Andhra,” he said reassuring those who had made Telangana their home. “KCR is with you. You don’t have to worry. It is Chandrababu Naidu who is trying to unnecessarily drive a wedge among people again,” he said.Rao pointed out that in GHMC elections, the TRS had given tickets to 12 people from Andhra and had made Telangana their home and all of them got elected as corporators. “Even in the assembly elections this time, as many as eight TRS tickets were given to them,” he said.KCR described Naidu as a monitor lizard (udumu) which does not want to lose grip over Telangana. “He is a snake,” he said talking about Naidu.The TRS president said it was foregone conclusion that the TRS would win the polls. “If we did not know the pulse of the people, would we even have gone for early polls?” he questioned. In at least five to six erstwhile districts, he said TRS would win 100% seats.Asked about Congress president Rahul Gandhi’s impact in Telangana elections , the TRS leader quipped: “Does KCR have to fear Rahul Gandhi?” He also advised senior Congress leader S Jaipal Reddy not to make a mockery of himself by speaking against the TRS government. “He seems to be out of his mind,” he said. KCR said providing house sites for MPs, MLAs, MLCs were on his mind.
