Former MLA and former District Congress Committee president T. Nandeeswar Goud who joined the BJP in the recent past has now shifted his loyalty to the Telugu Desam Party (TDP). He had recently met party president and Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu at Amaravati and expressed his desire to join the party. In the past, he represented Patancheru Assembly constituency and even reportedly tried to join the TRS, but could not succeed. Party-hopping Though he is aspiring for a TDP ticket from the constituency, it may not be possible as the Congress, a major partner in the Mahakutami (Grand Alliance), may not sacrifice the seat. Moreover, Patancheru ZPTC member Srikanth Goud has been loyal to the TDP for the past several years. S. Ramulu Naik, nominated MLC from TRS who was suspended from the party on Monday, is yet to announce his future course of action. He is aspiring for an MLA ticket from Narayankhed and openly held meetings with his supporters. Though Irrigation Minister T. Harish Rao tried to pacify the warring factions of former MLA M. Bhupal Reddy and Ramulu Naik, his efforts did not yield a any result, leading to the suspension of the latter. It is learnt that he was looking at the Congress. Ticket seekers Ditto is the case of P. Babu Mohan, who recently joined the BJP. As he was not re-nominated from Andol constituency by party president and Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao, Mr. Mohan went to Delhi and joined the national party. This is the third party he joined with political aspirations, the other being the TDP and TRS. “We need a strong candidates who can win the elections. But at the same time they should also consider the opinion of local leaders as well. We were not given prior information about Babu Mohan’s move, or in the past about Nandeeswar Goud. This will not go well within the party,” commented a BJP leader on condition of anonymity. He also wondered about the fate of workers who had been working for the party for several years.
