UNO gave pat to Mission Bhagiratha: KCR

Hyderabad: TRS president and caretaker Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao today claimed that the United Nations Organisation (UNO) has appreciated the Telangana Government for its flagship program of providing safe and purified drinking waters under Mission Bhagiratha to rural folk at their doorsteps, which is first of its kind. The TRS dispensation has taken measures to prevent suicides by weavers and farmers by giving them adequate work and extend support, KCR said. Addressing a huge public meeting at Sircilla, the segment represented by his son K T Rama Rao, Chandrashekhar Rao said “We are keeping the promise of giving potable waters to women in villages who have so far been deprived of that facility leading to health hazards, he said. Related works are nearing completion and the women needless to go to streets with empty pots as the officials made arrangements for giving drinking waters at their households in the villages, he asserted. KCR also slammed the Opposition parties stating that the previous governments neglected agriculture, irrigation, farmers’ issues and to provide basic amenities to the poor besides swindling funds through various schemes. He also slammed the past regimes for creating confusion and fear among people that statehood will throw Telangana State into a pall of gloom as there will be no power supply. “However, we disproved the mischievous allegation and now the farmers are happy with 24-hour power supply, Rs 8,000 crop investment and Rs 5 lakh insurance to farmers in the State, KCR added. “On assuming power in 2014, we have resolved the most important power problem and providing 24-hour power supply to farm sector and completing irrigation projects on a war footing. He also listed welfare schemes and spending huge funds by the TRS Government which is first of its kind in the country.
