Concentrate on development of villages: CM

Hyderabad: Chief Minister K. Chandrashekhar Rao has stated that it was only when the villages are developed, the State and the country would develop and as such one should concentrate on the development of villages. The CM said that by effectively implementing new Panchayat Raj Act, the overall picture of the villages must be changed and bettered. The CM will deliver the inaugural address and make suggestions on the action plan for the development of villages. The CM said, that, immediately after the conduct of Village Panchayat Raj elections programmes concerning to greenery in the villages and sanitation as well as environmental cleanliness must be stepped up. With the appointment of new village secretaries, the CM said that every village will have village level officers who will be made responsible for development of the village greenery and sanitation programs.

The Chief Minister held a review meeting on Sunday at Pragathi Bhavan on various aspects of Panchayat Raj and electoral promises made in the recent assembly elections. Chief Advisor to Government Rajiv Sharma, CS SK Joshi, MLAs C Laxma Reddy, Errabaelly Dayakar Rao, Vemula Prashanth reddy, Aruri Ramesh, Chella Dharma Reddy, Senior officers S. Narsing Rao, Rajeswar Tiwari, Ramakrishna Rao, Vikas Raj, Smita Sabarwal, Nitu Prasad, Raghunandan Rao, Pausami Basu etc participated in the review meeting. 9355 New Panchayat Raj Secretaries Appointed As part of having one village secretary for each of the 12,751 Gram Panchayats in the state, the Government has taken up recruitment of 9355 Village secretaries. This is the first of its kind recruitment process after creation of New Zonal system. The recruitment process has also been completed and the CM has signed on the file pertaining to issuing instructions to the district collectors to issue appointment orders to the newly recruited village secretaries. With the appointment of new village secretaries, the CM said that every village will have village level officers who will be made responsible for development of the village greenery and sanitation programs. Awareness conclave on Dec. 27 In addition to the existing village secretaries along with the newly recruited village panchayat secretaries totalling 12,750, MPDOs, EOPRDs, DPOs, DLPOs, there will be a awareness conclave on 27th December 2018 at LB stadium, Hyderabad together to all. All these officials will reach LB Stadium by 12 Noon and after the Lunch the conclave commences at 2.00 PM. The CM will deliver the inaugural address and make suggestions on the action plan for the development of villages. Asara pensions to those cross 57 years The CM has announced in the review meeting that in accordance with the electoral promises every old age person on completion of 57 years will be provided with old age pensions. The CM has instructed Chief secretary SK Joshi to draft modalities pertaining to this and decide on the process of identifying eligible persons for old age pension. The CM said that once the details of beneficiaries are worked out and the number is decided, adequate budgetary provision will be made in 2019-20 budget and pension should be given with effect from 1st April 2019. Formation of news districts & mandals The CM has instructed revenue principal secretary Rajeshwar Tiwari to commence the process of formation of two more districts namely Mulugu and Narayanpet in accordance with his electoral promises made in the assembly elections. With this the process of formation of new districts commences. The CM also told the revenue secretary to initiate the process of formation of Korutla new revenue division and Ghattuppal Mandal in Nalgonda District, Mallampally Mandal in Bhupalapally District. CM also suggested that the existing Gundala Mandal in Jangoan district should now be merged into Yadadri Bhuvangiri District. Bathukamma saree distribution from Dec. 19 The CM has instructed the officers concerned that the Bathukamma sarees which are ready for distribution should be distributed from December 19. The CM has reminded that though the Bathukamma sarees were kept ready for distribution ahead of the festival it was to be deferred in view of the complaint made by the Congress party. The CM has instructed that along with the distribution of clothes on the occasion of Christmas festival, Bathukamma sarees should also be distributed. Kalyana Laxmi/Shadi Mubarak cheques The CM said that the cheques of Kalyana laxmi and shadi Mubarak should henceforth be distributed by MLAs as was done prior to the election code. He said that in view of the election code the cheques were distributed by the collectors for a while and now it should again be reverted back to the old system and be distributed by MLAs concerned.
