UG Courses: Change in syllabus likely from next academic year

According to the report published in Telangana Today, the change in syllabus is likely to be implemented from 2019-20. Hyderabad: The syllabus of the undergraduate course is likely to be changed from next academic year. Prof T Papi Reddy, Chairman, Telangana State Council of Higher Education said that the process to change the syllabus will start after receiving framework from UGC. It may be mentioned that the last change in syllabus was done in 2016. Meanwhile, an official of Telangana State Council of Higher Education said that workshop would be organized with all the Vice Chancellors of universities in the State.

Hyderabad: The syllabus of the undergraduate course is likely to be changed from next academic year. The University Grants Commission (UGC) would provide a framework in this regard. Around 80% of the syllabus is expected to have uniformity whereas 20% will be university-specific. According to the report published in Telangana Today, the change in syllabus is likely to be implemented from 2019-20. The focus of the syllabus will be on skills relevant to industries, communication skills etc. Meanwhile, an official of Telangana State Council of Higher Education said that workshop would be organized with all the Vice Chancellors of universities in the State. Apart from this, subject-wise expert committees will be constituted for making changes in the syllabus, he added. It may be mentioned that the last change in syllabus was done in 2016. Prof T Papi Reddy, Chairman, Telangana State Council of Higher Education said that the process to change the syllabus will start after receiving framework from UGC. He further said that there is a need to increase grants for the universities and colleges for the effective implementation of changes.
