Ruling party left farmers in lurch, says Bhatti

Hyderabad: CLP leader Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka on Monday alleged that the State government was ignoring the agitations of red jowar and turmeric farmers. He also alleged that the claims of the State government that it had bought red jowar were totally wrong. Addressing the media at Gandhi bhavan, Vikramarka said middlemen were cheating the red jowar farmers due to the negligent attitude of the State government towards them. He demanded that the State government purchase jowar @ Rs 3,000 per quintal minimum support price. He demanded that the State government to buy turmeric @ Rs 10,000 per quintal from the farmers.
