Survey: Porn viewing is on shoot in City

Even though the Union government banned 827 porn sites in the country, porn viewership in the city has seen a 75% increase from 2017. According to the TOI report, a survey was carried out by city doctors and published by DocOnline, an online consultation platform, also found out that an obsession for pornography is taking a toll on the sexual health of viewers, 78% of them male, aged from 18 to 50 years. Dr Abrar Kareem, a city physician told that porn raises impractical sexual expectations – if it is not met, frustration creeps resulting in numerous pshycho-somatic disorders. Around 5000 patients confessed to watching porn regularly when they were counselled for sexual disorders, of them 3500 are men. In fact, divorces or breaking up of relationships has also seen a rise by 31% in the city. Dr Kareem also said that rising indulgence in virtual sex is affecting many young men and women to such an effect that temporary cases of impotence and failure to conceive are often being brought to us. “School teachers should work as counsellors to keep adolescents away from porn malady. The addiction starts with that age group,” Kareem added. The cyber experts are of the view that the porn sites bypassing the ban by making minor changes in the URLs.
