Hyderabad: 300-year-old masjid needs immediate attention

Representational PhotoHyderabad: The 300-year-old Osman Shahi masjid which is located at Afzalgunj needs immediate attention as the stability of the structure is getting affected due to the presence of peepal tree adjacent to the Masjid. According to the report published in TOI, walls of the masjid are also witnessing the problem of cracks. Committee members and worshippers are worried about the structure of the Masjid. She also said that attempt was made to bring the matter into the notice of Divisional Forest Officer (DFO). A minaret has already fallen down due to roots and trunks of the tree.

General Secretary of Social Party, Lubna Sarwath claimed that the Wakf Board has neglected the area. She also said that attempt was made to bring the matter into the notice of Divisional Forest Officer (DFO). Due to Panchayat elections, authorities said that they would get back later however, they never contacted, she added. Committee members and worshippers are worried about the structure of the Masjid.
