Hyderabad: All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) Chief, Mr. Asaduddin Owaisi issued a clarification on Mr. Akbaruddin Owaisi’s nomination for Hyderabad MP seat. Addressing a rally, Mr. Asaduddin Owaisi said that his younger brother’s nomination for Lok Sabha Polls is nothing but a “backup plan”. Mr. Asaduddin Owaisi further made it clear that he himself is the party’s official candidate for Hyderabad MP seat. Earlier, confusion had prevailed among the party workers after Mr. Akbaruddin Owaisi filed nomination for the seat. It may be mentioned that usually, apart from official party candidate, another candidate files nomination for the same seat as a supporting candidate. Supporting candidate becomes party candidate in case election commission rejects the application of the party’s official candidate. Commenting on ‘Main Bhi Chowkidar’ campaign, Mr. Asaduddin Owaisi said India wants an honest Prime Minister and not a ‘Chowkidar’. “Under your (PM’s) nose terror attacks took place in Pathankot, Uri and Pulwama. What kind of a ‘Chowkidar’ are you? India wants an honest Prime Minister, not a ‘Chowkidar’,” Mr. Owaisi said
