Rachakonda police conduct Property Mela

Total property recovered include 120 tolas of gold ornaments worth Rs 36,15,000, four motorcycles worth Rs 2 lakh, and six LED TVs worth Rs 3 lakh. The police have started handing over the property recovered in 23 cases to the victims. “To instill confidence among victims of crime on criminal justice system, for the first time we have organized a Property Return Mela to handover property following due process of law”, police said. Hyderabad: The Rachakonda Police, under the guidance of Police Commissioner Mahesh M Bhagwat, IPS, was organizing Property Mela for the first time in Telangana State with an objective of building confidence among the victims as well as in the people. It may be mentioned here that in February this year, Rachakonda CCS police have apprehended potential inter-state house burglary gang (Bharat Bansal and Mathura Prasad) and detected 21 cases and recovered 94 tolas of gold ornaments worth Rs 31,50,000 and all the recovered property was deposited in the courts concerned among which the property belonging to 11 cases was got released and being handed over to victims.
