Hyderabad: Mobile meat shops on the cards

A model vehicle is being designed on the lines of mobile fish shops initiated by the Fisheries Department for setting up the mobile meat shops. Aimed at encouraging self-employment among unemployed youth the new initiative of mobile meat vending units, will not only maintain hygiene but also assure quality for customers. According to Telangana today, Officials of the Federation informed that after obtaining due approval from the government, the mobile meat shops will be introduced initially in Hyderabad especially Charminar, Secunderabad and Mehdipatnam where there is a good market for meat. Hyderabad: Telangana State Sheep and Goat Development Cooperative Federation Limited (TSSGDCFL) has mooted a proposal to sell quality and fresh meat in hygienic conditions through vending vehicles in every locality. Of course the vehicle will also have a chopping board for vendor to cut the meat.

As reported by Telangana Today, following introduction of the sheep distribution scheme by Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao, two years ago, the sheep population in the State has gone up to an estimated 2.25 crore from about one crore during the State formation. Aimed at encouraging self-employment among unemployed youth the new initiative of mobile meat vending units, will not only maintain hygiene but also assure quality for customers. According to Telangana today, Officials of the Federation informed that after obtaining due approval from the government, the mobile meat shops will be introduced initially in Hyderabad especially Charminar, Secunderabad and Mehdipatnam where there is a good market for meat. The vehicle with glass boxes and freezers to store the meat has been designed in such a way that leg pieces, body pieces, lever, head and other pieces could be stored in separate compartments. Of course the vehicle will also have a chopping board for vendor to cut the meat. The vehicles costing around Rs 8-12 lakh will be made available to beneficiaries through bank loans. They will be given on subsidized price.
