Change of name of “OU Library” objected

He informed that OU Library contains five lakh books and nearly six thousand manuscripts including the ones written on palm leaves. Hyderabad: Grandson of late Nizam VII, Nawab Najaf Ali Khan told that his grandfather Nawab Meer Osman Ali Khan had established Osmania University. Now that the name of Osmania University Library is being changed which is objectionable. Nawab Najaf Ali Khan demanded the chancellor to instruct OU authorities to take back their decision. He made a representation to Chancellor of Osmania University, Mr. ESL Narasimhan in which he lamented that the name of the library is being changed unnecessarily.

Now that the name of Osmania University Library is being changed which is objectionable. He made a representation to Chancellor of Osmania University, Mr. ESL Narasimhan in which he lamented that the name of the library is being changed unnecessarily. This decision has not been taken keeping in view the sentiments of all the people and the spirit of the founder of the university. He applauded the efforts of the establishment of Bharat Ratna Dr. BR Ambedkar Research Center but he regretted that the historic name of the library is being changed for this purpose. He expressed the apprehension that if the steps of changing the names continue in this manner, what will happen to the history, culture and heritage of Hyderabad? He informed that OU Library contains five lakh books and nearly six thousand manuscripts including the ones written on palm leaves. He further told that the place of Ambedkar is in the hearts of the people. He had drafted the constitution of India. He was also a social reformer. He worked for the eradication of social discrimination. Osmania University had conferred doctorate degree on him. Nawab Mir Osman Ali Khan had allotted 54 acre land to Dr. Ambedkar for the establishment of Milind Mahavidyalaya.
