Hyderabad: Chief Secretary SK Joshi today directed the collectors to speed up steps on solid waste management in the districts.
The chief secretary held a video conference at Secretariat and instructed the collectors to take immediate steps to set up district-level committees and prepare a plan on solid waste management as per guidelines of Green Tribunal.
He directed the collectors to ensure that awareness is created in villages and towns on the shifting of waste from each house-hold.
The chief secretary instructed the collectors to take municipal commissioners to visit the Solid Waste Management Plant in Jeedimetla in the city.
This will give them total understanding as to how to deal with solid waste management, shifting of dust and garbage from the villages and shifting them to outskirts at a selected place, he said.
