GHMC and traffic officials to visit other states

A+ A-Author: Mohammed HussainHyderabad: GHMC and Traffic officials to visit other states in the country to study Traffic signal systems and its maintenance with the latest technology said Dana Kishore, GHMC Commissioner here on Thursday. Complaints have been received from traffic officials and traffic analysts that the existing traffic signals in Hyderabad City are in a poor status. In view of this a committee comprises of BEL, traffic officials, and chief engineer GHMC shall tour Bangalore to study the traffic signal system and its maintenance. Cyberabad Commissioner suggested that while giving permits for the construction of Commercial Complexes, Cinema Halls, and Restaurants could be considered after the Traffic Impact Assessment report from traffic officials and RTC officials. Also by noticing reports on heavy rains in August, the GHMC commissioner directed the officials to take up repair and rectification works immediately.
