Commissioner Anjani Kumar’s impressive views on ‘Karbala’

A+ A-Every year, elaborate security arrangements were made for peaceful and smooth conduct of the Muharram procession in Hyderabad. This year too, Hyderabad City Police Commissioner Anjani Kumar addresses a meeting regarding security arrangements. While addressing the audience consisted on prominent and distinguished personalities at Royal Classic Function Hall, Etebar Chowk (Old City), Mr Kumar expressed his views on auspicious month of Islamic Calendar. -Fasting-Sunni Muslims also observed the day by fasting and holding meetings to remember the sacrifices of Imam Hussain (AS) and his followers who were martyred in 61 Hijri or 680 CE at Karbala in present day Iraq. The fasting is observed on two days – 9th and 10th or 10th and 11th Muharram.

He also quoted the father of Nation, Mahatma Gandhi saying that, “If India wants to be a successful country, it must follow the footsteps of Imam Hussain(AS) and if I had an army like 72 soldiers of Imam Hussain(AS), I would have won freedom for India in 24 Hours.” Watch the video: –“Yaum-e-Ashura”- The 10th of Muharram marks as “Yaum-e-Ashura”, the date when carnage took place in the battle of Karbala and when the grandson of Prophet of Islam, Hazrath Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him/ PBUH) Hazrath Imam Hussain (Alaihiss-Salam/ AS) martyred along with His other 71 companions. -Fasting- Sunni Muslims also observed the day by fasting and holding meetings to remember the sacrifices of Imam Hussain (AS) and his followers who were martyred in 61 Hijri or 680 CE at Karbala in present day Iraq.
