Republic Day Alert: Added frisking, shoe check at all airports

A+ A-Hyderabad: With high alert being sounded across the country, in view of the Republic Day celebrations, the government of India has issued a security alert at all vital airports. Accordingly, the security measures at the airports are being strengthened. Hence, the Rajiv Gandhi International Airport authorities today issued an advisory saying that the passengers are advised to reach the airport early. Moreover, the entry of visitors into airports has been imposed from 20 to 30 January. The security officers have stepped up watch at sensitive airports entailing passengers to go through the second round of frisking and detailed scanning of their footwear and handbags.
