Musical retreat ‘Uttar Dakshin’ comes to Hyderabad

Uttar Dakshin, a unique musical jugalbandi concert of Hindustani and Carnatic to be held at Ravindra Bharathi on Saturday at 6 pm.

The concert is being organised on the eve of the centenary celebrations of legendary classical singer Pt. Bhimsen Joshi. It would be performed by Jayateerth Mevundi, Hindustani vocalist and Abhishek Raghuram, Carnatic vocalist.

The year-long birth centenary celebrations of Bhimsen Joshi have already begun. The classical singer had a fond connection with the city as he had performed several musical concerts and went on to amass a legion of fans and music lovers.

Jayateerth Mevundi and Abhishek Raghuram, both great masters of music, will treat audiences with their magical compositions. Vid. Bangalore V Praveen will be on Mridangam, V. Narhari on tabla, Vid.

HN Bhaskar on violin and Narendra Nayak on the harmonium will add to the fervour. The concert is brought to by Vivid Arts & Entertainment with the support from Public Sector Undertakings SBI, Union Bank of India, Gail(India) Ltd.

Uttar Dakshin is one of the early concerts being organised post the unlocking period of the pandemic. The concert is also being planned in Mumbai, Bangalore, Delhi along with Hyderabad.
