Hotter days ahead for Hyderabad with temperature rising: IMD

Meteorologists have predicted that the maximum temperature is expected to touch 40 degree Celsius mark for the first time this season by March 31 (Thursday).

Apart from the second wave of the novel coronavirus, many parts of the country are now starting to witness a rise in temperature as summers are nearing. Thus, it is now also starting to make its presence felt and will surely add to the woes of the countrymen, with excessive heat in many parts along with battling the invisible enemy in COVID-19.

With regard to the rise in temperature, the maximum temperature rose to 37.4 degrees Celsius in the city of Hyderabad on Friday (March 26). For the unversed, it is only set to get hotter in the next few days. Meteorologists have predicted that the maximum temperature is expected to touch 40 degree Celsius mark for the first time this season by March 31 (Thursday).

“At present, wind discontinuity runs from Telangana towards south Odisha across Chhatisgarh. Under the influence of this wind discontinuity, Telangana is likely to witness dry weather conditions with possibility of rise in temperature,” said Naga Ratna, in-charge, IMD, Hyderabad. 

According to the Telangana State Development Planning Society figures, Khairatabad and Asifnagar recorded the highest maximum temperature of 37.8 degree. It was followed by Nagole at 37.6 degree Celsius, Viratnagar at 37.5 degree Celsius and 37.4 degree Celsius at Asmangad, Maitrivanam, Sardarmahal and Red Hills.

Moreover, districts such as Bhadrachalam and few parts of Mulugu also saw a spike in temperature with the maximum reaching 40 degree Celsius on Friday. "There will be a gradual rise following which the maximum temperature will touch the 40 degree mark by March 31,” said A Shravani, meteorologist, IMD. 

Talking about the state of things in Telangana, 495 cases were recorded on Friday along with two fatalitie.
