The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) accounted for the most number of cases with 1464 fresh cases, followed by Medchal Malkajgiri (606) and Rangareddy (504), according to health bulletin, providing details as of 8 PM on April 23.
Telangana recorded 7432 fresh Covid-19 positive cases in the last 24 hours, while record 33 people succumbed to the virus in the state.
The tally of total positive cases in the Telangana has mounted to 3,87,106 on the other hand 3,26,997 people have recovered from Covid-19, so far. The number of active cases in the district has reached 58,148.
The cumulative death toll of Telangana has reached 1961 after 33 people succumbed to the virus in the state.
According to a bulletin from the state health department, the death rate stands at 0.51% against the national average of 1.1%. Health officials conducted 1.03 Lakh tests on Friday (22 April), while cases continued to increase in Greater Hyderabad. A record 1464 new cases were registered in the state capital.
The neighbouring two districts of Medchal and Rangareddy had 606 and 504 cases respectively, leaving the entire urban region in the tight grip of the virus.
The other districts like Nizamabad (486), Mancherial (222), Kothugudem (213), Warangal (323), Khamam (325) are also seeing sharp spikes.
