Telangana government is currently not considering a lockdown in Telangana to deal with the second wave of the Covid-19 epidemic, Health Minister Etela Rajender said on Thursday. In a similar statement, Rajendra told the media that as of now we are not thinking of imposing a lockdown in the state.

He further said, on the contrary, the Center should seriously consider declaring a health emergency across the country, resulting in an improvement in the health facilities available for Covid infected patients, especially in BJP-ruled states. Rajendra further stated that the Center failed to regulate and ensure adequate stocks of Remedesivir to the states. It also failed to ensure that sufficient oxygen was available in all states, which could save lives.

It has also failed to meet the demand for vaccines and is now asking individual states to import them. However, it should be noted here that the Health Minister also stated that the Center cannot predict the severity or intensity of the second wave.
