In view of the massive surge in Covid-19 cases in Telangana, the K.Chandrasekhar Rao government of Telangana has announced a full lockdown of 10 days from Wednesday(May 12).

The decision has been taken in an important cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister K. Chandra Shekhar Rao on Tuesday.

The lockdown will come into effect from tomorrow. During this period, shops of essential commodities will be opened from 6 am to 10 am from Wednesday and after that, the lockdown will continue in the entire state.

The State Cabinet has decided to impose #lockdown for 10 days starting 10 am tomorrow. The lockdown will be relaxed from 6 am to 10 am daily for all the activities. The Council of Ministers has also decided to invite global tenders for procuring #Covid19 vaccine.

Apart from this, the Telangana government has decided to continue the Covid-19 vaccination drive as before.

Telangana reported 4823 fresh cases of Covid-19 on Monday, while 32 people succumbed to the virus. The active cases tally crossed the 63000 mark in the state.

The cumulative death toll stands at 2700, while the recovery rate of the state is 86.94%.
