There is an outcry in the entire country for Covid-19 vaccines, many states are even not able to administer the scheduled second dose to their people. The central government`s late response and untimely decisions is been considered as one of the main causes for the severe shortage of vaccine`s in the world`s biggest vaccine producer country.

In a startling incident, there are reports that 50 vials of Covishield have gone missing in Hyderabad. The police informed and said the investigation is going on in this matter.

Police informed that the Medical Superintendent of Kondapur Hospital had complained that 50 vials containing 500 Covishield doses have gone missing. He said that the staff came to know about the disappearance of the vaccine when the superintendent sent a colleague to examine the stock on 19 May. The hospital management has seen in the CCTV camera that one of the staff is suspiciously moving around the refrigerator.

There were about 130 vials and 50 of them was gone. After an internal inquiry, a complaint was lodged with us o Thursday, Gachibowli inspector G Suresh said.

The police have registered a case under Section 380 of the IPC against unidentified people and started an investigation.

Earlier, there had also been reports of theft of Remedesivir injections from Bhopal, capital of Madhya Pradesh.

32 vials of Bharat Biotech`s Covaxin were also stolen from Jaipur`s Kanwatia Hospital in Shastri Nagar.

At least nine States have floated global expressions of interest (EOI) to procure 28.7 crore vaccine doses in all from manufacturers across the world to inoculate the age group of 18-44 years in India.
