Telangana Education Department has extended the summer vacations for schools and DIET colleges till June 20 given the COVID-19 situation in the state.

Earlier, classes were to resume from June 16.

A notification issued by the Director of School Education, Telangana said, “All Heads of Departments, Regional Joint Directors of School Education and all District Education Officers in the State are hereby informed that orders are issued to extend the summer vacations till June 15, 2021. were done.

vide ref 5th cited, the government has carefully reviewed the situation and it has been decided to extend the holidays of all schools and DIET colleges in the state till June 20, 2021.”

Earlier, the state government has cancelled the class XII examination for the academic year 2020-21. The results are to be declared based on the pre-determined objective criteria; however, the evaluation criteria is not yet shared by the board.

Telangana government also decided to promote all the students of class XI to class XII. Class XI exams will not be conducted because of the Covid-19 epidemic.

Telangana added 1,556 new Covid-19 cases while 14 people succumbed to the virus in the last 24 hours. A total of 2,070 patients recovered from the virus; the total case tally now stands at 6,06,436.
