Sacked TPCC secy Kaushik reddy accuses state party president of giving Rs 50 crore bribe for the post

Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee secretary Kaushik Reddy has submitted his resignation to Sonia Gandhi after an audio clip went viral.

Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee secretary Kaushik Reddy has submitted his resignation to Sonia Gandhi after an audio clip went viral. He also accused party`s state president A. Revanth Reddy of paying a bribe of Rs 50 crore for the post.

Kaushik Reddy is Telangana Congress Committee secretary in-charge of Huzurabad assembly constituency.

Kaushik Reddy said in a press conference after submitting his resignation, “In Telangana, senior leaders like Damodar Rajanarasimha, D Sridhar Babu, Bhatti Vikramarka were sidelined to appoint Revanth Reddy as the President of the State Congress Committee. Revanth, MP from Malkajgiri, has given Rs 50 crore to AICC Telangana Incharge Manickam Tagore to get this post".

Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee sent a show-cause notice to Reddy after an objectionable audio clip went viral.

The TPCC on this audiotape had asked him to clarify in 24 hours. However, the leader has tendered his resignation ignoring this.

According to the viral clip, Kaushik Reddy expressed his desire to join the TRS party soon and claimed that he was confirmed for the Huzurabad bypoll ticket. A TRS worker was asking him to mobilize youth for money. Reddy was heard saying, "Pay the youth Rs 2,000, Rs 3,000 or Rs 5,000 and bring them to the party."
