Doctors at Eragada Chest Hospital (Hyderabad) on Tuesday staged a protest following an alleged attack on a colleague by the kin of a COVID patient. After examining the patient, the doctor asked the people accompanying him whether the patient had taken his blood pressure medicine. On asking just this, the family got furious. Dr Pranay, a post-graduate resident doctor at Erragada Hospital, said that the angry people present there said that this is your work, not ours.
Recently, the doctor of Eragada Chest Hospital in Hyderabad has been attacked by the relatives of a corona patient. There is an atmosphere of anger among the doctors over the reprehensible incident on their colleagues. Doctors held placards and protested by shouting slogans outside the hospital.
Talking to a news agency, Dr Pranay said that the mask of the postgraduate resident doctor was torn and slapped by the attendants of the patients and also kicked on the stomach by the attendants of the patients in the COVID ward. Dr Pranay said that fortunately, there were other staff members present in the ward who rescued him, picked him up and brought him out of the ward.

Referring to various incidents of doctors beaten up by families of patients, Dr Pranay said, “This has happened many times, every time something like this happens we stop protesting, but the issue gets diluted. He said that we have been demanding protection from the governments but we did not get it.
