The Hindu photographers bag prizes

Three photographers of The Hindu bagged prizes at the event — K.V.S. Rao in the best news picture category, Singam Venkataramana in Samskruti category and G.N. The Hindu Khammam news photographer G.N. Rao receiving the Best News Picture Award from Chairman of Media Academy of Telangana, Allam Narayana, at State Gallery of Fine Arts in the city on Sunday. A total of 820 photographs were sent as entries for the contest by 93 photographers.

Speaking at the World Photography Day celebrations organised by the Department of Information and Public Relations, he said one good picture was worth a thousand words in a news report. A photo exhibition was also organised at the State Art Gallery on the occasion. A total of 820 photographs were sent as entries for the contest by 93 photographers. Three photographers of The Hindu bagged prizes at the event — K.V.S. Giri and G.N. Rao in the best news picture category, Singam Venkataramana in Samskruti category and G.N. Rao in Palle Andalu category.
