The firm has a market share of more than 60 % in the premium mobile market of ? 30,000 and above while it is up to 43% in overall smart phones share in the country while clocking a double digit growth, he claimed. Stating that India has been the fastest growing mobile market in the world, Mr. Warsi observed that up to 125 million mobiles across brands are likely to be sold in the country this year with the replacement purchases being up to two-and-a-half years each for every phone. “There is lot of upgrade happening in the market and our recently introduced Samsung Pay has received very good response,” he said. Innovations He also pointed out that all the mobiles being sold by the firm in the country have been manufactured here in the two plants. Besides it also has five research & development centres as well as a design centre. It also helped in making India specific innovations like ‘ultra data saving, ‘S’ bike mode and ‘S’ power planning adding value to its ‘J’ series smartphones.
