The cadres should be united to bring party back to power in the State in 2019 elections, said Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee president N. Uttam Kumar Reddy. Addressing the party workers at a day-long training programme here on Friday, he urged them to take part actively in Rythu Samithi meetings and expose the shortcomings of the State Government. They should ensure that the landless get land and other benefits of welfare schemes promised by the Government. The Congress after coming to power in 2019 will give one-time loan waiver to all farmers up to ? 2 lakh and pay ?3,000 stipend to unemployed youth. “The people are vexed with the ruling TRS party and they realise that KCR makes only empty promises and never delivers. Not even 1% of the dalits got land under the promise of giving three acres to each family,” he said. The Congress if voted to power would clear all the pending Indiramma housing bills and sanction one additional room to all beneficiaries, he promised the people. Mr. Uttam Kumar Reddy launched ‘Shakti’ App and asked all the booth-level cadre to download it and keep in touch with leaders at various levels to be informed and work in coordination. He asked the police to maintain restraint and not to harass the Congress party workers at the behest of ruling party leaders. Party in-charge R.C. Kuntia, SC Cell Chairman Koppula Raju also echoed similar feelings. Senior leader V. Hanumantha Rao urged the cadre to bury differences and work together to bring the party back to power in Telangana in 2019 elections. “Let us not fight who will be the chief minister or who will get what now. Our single-point agenda now should be to bring the party to power and later we shall discuss rest of the things,” he said. Congress party workers from booth level, mandal and at various levels attended the training programme in large numbers. The programme boosted the morale of the cadre as they were seen in a upbeat mood.
