Son of Nawab Zabardast Khan, Shah Alam Khan transformed Anwar ul Uloom from a small educational institution into a trust that now runs multiple educational institutions with thousands of students on its rolls. Nawab Shah Alam Khan, an industrialist, philanthropist and a pioneer in the field of minority education in Hyderabad, passed away at 1 a.m. on Monday at his residence in Barkatpura. Rose SocietyShah Alam Khan was the founder member of Hyderabad Rose Society and was known for his intimate knowledge about cultivation of roses and won many awards both nationally and internationally for his cultivars. “He was healthy and stopped attending to his office work at Musheerabad only for the past one month,” informed a family member. His mortal remains were laid to rest at the Masjid-e-Salima Khatoon in Himayatnagar at 5 p.m.
