IMPHAL: After his government's initiative under the banner of 'Go to the Hills', chief minister N Biren Singh has now embarked on a new mission christened 'Go to the Village' across the state, a move to make Manipur a 'model state'. To make the mission successful, a committee will be set up with the CM as chairman, the deputy CM as vice-chairman, the PWD minister as convenor and MLAs as members, he added. The mission will be launched next month. Towards this end, Biren appealed to all to work together towards maintaining transparency and help the poor and the needy.Addressing a meeting with his cabinet colleagues and senior state government officials on the mission convened at his office secretariat on Thursday, Biren said government machineries should visit every village in each constituency across the state as part of this initiative.
