One kg heroin three gold biscuits seized in Manipur

Superintendent of NAB, W Basu Singh, said on Tuesday that the NAB police station has registered a case against the two under the NDPS Act. The boy and the recovered items were handed over to officials of the customs preventive force at Moreh, said a statement released by the Assam Rifles. IMPHAL: The Narcotics and Affairs of Border (NAB), a unit of Manipur police department, on Monday seized 1 kg of heroin powder from two persons at Deulaland area of Imphal city.The drug was confiscated from Hidangmayum Inao Sharma (43) and Hijam Tondon Singh (37), both residents of Yairipok village in Thoubal district . The matter is being investigated now, he added.In an unrelated incident, Assam Rifles personnel have seized three gold biscuits worth Rs 14.94 lakh from a passenger van, plying between the border town of Moreh and Imphal, at the force's permanent vehicle check post at Khudengthabi near Moreh.The items weighing 498 grams were found concealed inside the clothes of a 15-year-old boy who is a resident of Lilong Khunou in Thoubal district.
