Biren bats for stronger ties between NE states

The Manipur chief minister said Arunachal Pradesh is one of the fastest developing states of the country. "We must continue to work for strengthening the ties between the two states," Khandu said. He added that the Adi community is one of the most progressive and educated tribes in the state. "In the coming days, the Centre will make a lot of investment to develop Pasighat into a smart city ," he said. "In two years, Arunachal has taken a giant step towards development and it is difficult for a state like Manipur to catch up," Biren said.Khandu, while addressing the gathering, thanked Biren and Manipur deputy speaker K Robindro Singh for attending the Solung festival.

ITANAGAR: Manipur chief minister N Biren Singh has called for strengthening ties between Manipur, Arunachal Pradesh and the other northeastern states through cultural exchange programmes.Attending the 52nd Central Solung festival the Adi Community at Pasighat in East Siang district on Monday, Biren said Arunachal and Manipur have a rich cultural heritage as manifested through dances, songs and festivals of the various tribes and communities.Biren, accompanied by Arunachal chief minister Pema Khandu , reached Pasight late on Monday night.
