No sitting Congress legislator joined the NPP till Sunday evening, he said.A senior leader of the NPP in Mizoram said the people of Mizoram may not be "very comfortable" with the BJP. SHILLONG: The National People's Party (NPP) will play a major role in the upcoming Mizoram polls, party president and Meghalaya chief minister Conrad K Sangma said here on Sunday.NPP is part of the BJP-led NDA at the Centre and a constituent of the North East Democratic Alliance (NEDA). He claimed that a sitting Congress legislator has joined the NPP on Saturday and many others have expressed their interest to contest the election on NPP tickets.NPP national secretary Dr Lalrina, however, denied Conrad's claim. They have suffered enough because of Congress "misrule", he further said, adding, "NPP is the only feasible alternative that people can vote for. "The NPP is projecting itself as a pan-northeast party, he said.
